The Needles and Knots Retreat for 2024 is coming up September 30th-October 3rd! It will be held at the Historic Provo Library at Academy Square in Provo, Utah. The $275 fee covers entrance to the retreat, group activities, gifts, and a group meal on the last day. Additional meals and lodging will be on your own. The theme this year is “Harvest Gathering” so come prepared for a fun and festive time full of stitching and friendship. We are so excited to see you and hope you can attend! Sign ups will open June 1st at 8:00am Mountain Time, so be ready to secure your spot with your $100 non-refundable deposit. The remaining balance can be paid at the same time or by September 1st.

This year we are excited to announce that we have a national teacher coming to our retreat. Her name is Jennifer Richardson from “Violets and Verses”. She will teach and share her cross stitch talents in classes and a trunk show. Of course we are also highlighting other techniques like knitting, crochet, wool applique, embroidery, cotton applique, etc. Registration for classes is now open. See the schedule below.

Jennifer’s Bio:

Violets & Verses was born due to my love of antique samplers and a bit of extra time since my retirement from teaching. I love history and feeling a connection to the stitchers who came before me. The name Violets & Verses is in memory of my grandmother, Lela Mae, She loved to make things and never let a scrap of fabric go unused. The violets are a nod to the African Violets she always found a spot for in her kitchen. The verses portion is a reference to the sweet verses found on samplers, that we can still apply to our lives today. My hope in doing these reproductions is to help preserve the work done many years ago that help connect us as stitchers today.
